d-Bridge @ Bloc10 - 20th September 2010

One of the best sets I remember from 1Xtra was when d-Bridge guested for Friction. What a show! He dropped loads of fresh tracks, as well as unreleased tunes from the Bad Company archive and some exclusives like the Hive VIP of Mass Hysteria (not the Hive remix, the VIP...much more ferocious!). Anyway, this mix surfaced a few days ago and it's an absolute gem...thanks to the Bloc crew for sharing.

As one third of the Autonomic crew alongside the Instra:mental duo, he is responsible for one of the most essential podcast series in recent years thanks to their genre-blurring, dot-joining journeys through deeper d&b, dubstep, Detroit techno, ambient electronica, synth-funk and much more.

As a producer, he has – with the assistance of artists like Instra:mental, Commix, ASC and others – helped widen the creative horizons of drum & bass and restored depth, substance and innovation to the sound once more. As an A&R, he’s been busy nurturing hitherto hidden talents such as New Zealand’s Consequence, whose ‘Live For Never’ LP on dBridge’s Exit imprint remains one of the most beautifully crafted and unsung electronica LPs of the past 18 months.

As an increasingly proficient vocalist, he’s offered his distinctive organic but ghostly tones to Martyn’s ‘These Words’ and Instra:mental’s adrogynous cyber pop ‘Watching You’. And as a DJ, he remains one of the most devastating and forward-thinking that the scene has to offer – something you can hear first-hand on his set from Jak:BLOC at Bloc 2010.
