Back in the mid-90s there were loads of poor or (at best) average drum n bass compilation albums and DJ mixes clogging up record shop shelves. However, this particular release was a fresh change to this and could be put into the same bracket as the Logical Progression series for quality and style.
One of the original dnb players, DJ Fabio mixes up a sublime collection of smooth and soulful drum and bass with a selection of Higher Limits and Dee Jay Recordings artists. Featuring Orka (aka Decoder), DJ Trace, Voyager, Q-Project & Spinback (aka Total Science, aka The Funky Technicians), Adam F and Carlito, this mix is a blissful journey through some of the mellower dnb being created at the time.
Unlike many MCs, Cleveland Watkiss's vocals are a gentle accompaniment rather than a prominent feature, and really work well with the tunes and Fabio's mixing style. Personal favourites on this mix include 'Riker's Island', 'Heaven' and 'Hypersleep' - coincidentally they are tracks 2, 3 and 4 but that section of the mix really is outstanding! Check the comments below for the full tracklisting.

The first mix in this series was put together by Bukem and Conrad and is also worth grabbing if you come across it. I bought this mix from 'Our Price' (remember them?) in Sunderland just after it was released and, after it was borrowed and never returned, managed to pick up a copy recently from discogs.com. I have the triple vinyl but this mix is well worth having. Enjoy this mix by downloading here (and thanks to Ironman for the link).
