Ninja Tune is a label responsible for the success of many top artists and it was around their 10th anniversary that I really became aware of them and the type of music they released, generally leaning towards down-tempo, nu-jazz, chillout and breakbeat. That said, they have also released a wide range of other electronica including drum n bass. The Xen Cuts triple vinyl was the first purchase I made, with 'I Hear the Drummer Touch the Sky' and 'Rhythm and Blues Angus Steakhouse' being two of my favourite tracks. It was 'Ug' by Mr Scruff that then led me to follow him more closely and I have been an avid follower ever since.
I'm sure you are also aware that Ninja Tune recently reached their 20th anniversary. Coldcut, aka Matt Black and Jonathan More, have a lot to be thanked for!
